The old and the new Aidan and Margaret both charm and anger the other. Margaret fears Aidan will never forgive her for leaving and she just might be right. Aidan sees the old Margaret behind the hard mask she’s built, but there’s something that holds her back. Their anger and attraction sparks a fire that’s bound to consume them.When the enemy catches up to them secrets, love and fear may be the end to any possible future.I did not like this book as much as I liked the first book of the series. It just moved a bit to slow for me.
Many of us have a person who is the "one." Most of those relationships have been tainted by meddling family or friends. Aidan and Margaret were fortunate to find each other early in life; however, their joy was short-lived. We find them 8 years later in this novel. The ghost of the past linger near and they will not let them be at peace.The flashes of memory portions are great because you understand why they are doing the things they are doing. The hurt feelings and the assumptions can not smother the flames of attraction between them. There is enough of an antagonist with the Earl of Norwich and the impending war to add some urgency to the story.You do catch up with Reade and Elizabeth, which I love. I always want to know more about the characters in a previous novel. Aidan and Margaret deal with some real issues. This story is a great romance and it has enough realism to be relatable. If you like those types of stories I think you'll like this one.
Oh man, talk about hard hitting. This is one exciting, action packed, fast paced, pulse racing, heart pounding, page turning delight that captivates from start to finish. All the twists and turns, ups and downs, ins and outs, along with a few unexpected circumstances make for one incredible adventure. The pressure is on, the tension high, the danger and suspense builds throughout as the tale unfolds. One thrilling storyline with an incredible plot really pulls this bad boy together flawlessly. The characters and scenes are written with such realism it brings this bad boy roaring to life brilliantly. Remarkable job Mia, thanks for sharing this little gem with us.I received a review copy of this story.
I really enjoyed this book. Aiden is a very noble character with such caring traits. Margaret is his childhood sweetheart who leaves Scotland to go to England to live with her father. When he dies, she is left in a bad situation that only Aiden can help. He rescues her from England and returns to Scotland while being followed by an English suitor. Aiden and Margaret are again pulled into their former feelings but will not admit to each other. Frustrations are followed with lots of twists and turns. The ending is a satisfying happily ever after. I would recommend this book and Anne Morrison. I am looking forward to reading more of her books.

She secretly send a message to Aidan (Laird MacTaggar) asking for his help.After warding off another one of Harry's unwanted advances, Meggie runs and finds solice in the family chapel, unbeknownst, Aidan is hiding there.After short reunion, Meggie asks if Aidan will take her home to see her mom.He finally agrees to help her take her back to Scotland.They both have unresolved feelings for each other, which makes this trip home very emotional.
2nd in a series,The Highlander's Lost Bride was well written. I liked the 1st book just a bit !it's than this one. Aiden and Margaret dwelt with parent's expectations who thought they knew better than the it children. You meet characters from the first story and follow some of the politics for that era. War is a constant, passion handled just like it can be handled now days. Believable and real are Ann Morrison's characters. I look forward to other stories by her. This is a honest review from receiving the story from the author.
Anne Morrison does not disappoint her readers. If you enjoy Scottish Highland romance, you will enjoy “The Highlander’s Lost Brideâ€. Anne’s style of writing holds your interest from the first page of her books. Aiden the Laird of his clan is sent a cryptic message from the love of his youth whom he never forgot. He goes alone to the dangers of England to see Margaret and find out what troubles she is in. This book is about a second chance at your first love and all that is involved to get there. I can’t wait for Anne’s third book in this series!
