Not what I expected, for sure. Some of the introductions seem irrelevent. For instance: Chapter 2, Joy - "Roller coasters. Great sex. The birth of a baby. Surprise party. When we hear the word joy we are likely to connect it with special events." Really?! Great Sex!! It is either beyond joy or a surprise. I need to do more background study to lead our Bible study or we would be finished in 1/2 hour. Usually appreciate the Lifeguide studies. This one is a disappointment.
We are doing. this study right now. It is okay. The author goes through the fruit of the Spirit in each chapter linking it to one Biblical passage. It becomes a little limited by doing that.
I love the Lifeguide Bible study books. I highly recommend them. Great for people that work and have little time to do homework/reading. You can do one chapter a week in just an hour. Fruit of the Spirit worked well for a group of working women (most with families) several years ago and now I have chosen this same guide to lead another group starting the end of this month. The group can pick from a long list of Lifeguide studies for their next study.
My Sunday School class of 15 women of various ages really enjoyed this study. it lead us to really processing the fruits of the spirit we felt we already had and how to improve on those areas needing improvement. We took 10 weeks for the study as it generated so much discussion .
Small book with excellent lessons. Additional comments in back very helpful.
After reading the reviews for this study I reluctantly decided to use it for our ladies group. I introduced it as bible study "light". Although the Q&A is brief we have had some very in depth discussion on each topic. You can make it worth your while if you have a mind to.
