I got all three volumes and I'm addicted to this manga. It's officially one of my favorites. I watched the anime and let me say it does not do justice with the manga. Anime is kind of disappointing--it left a lot of crucial information out (like Touka and Kaneki going undercover at the CCG headquarters--really bothered me), but I'm not here to review the anime.Ishida's made these characters easy to relate too. The character development is stellar. You can relate to every single one and you see yourself routing not only for the main character, Kaneki but side characters too (Hinami, Amon and Touka). You start to sympathize for the ghouls and humans.The scene between Amon and Kaneki fully illustrate the conflict. How the humans view the ghouls and how some ghouls have humanity, morals and goals (Touka illustrates this well). Hinami's development is beautifully tragic. Kaneki, being a hybrid (half-ghoul and half-human) starts to understand both sides, yet still unstable controlling himself.The art is phenomenal, especially the backgrounds. It's detailed and dark--fitting the horror, tragedy theme of this seinen manga.
My son wanted these booms to try out. He watches animé all the time but had never read them. He said took some getting use to cause you read them backwards to the way American books are. Once he got cause to he loves them. He got 3 volumes for Christmas its now Dec 29th had he has already read all 3. I have been wanting him to read more. This is awesome. Planning on ordering the rest of them. Great books. Thanks
Let me just say, I AM SO READY FOR THIS TO BE ANIMATED! I've been obsessed with Tokyo Ghoul for quite a long time already. This was just great to feed my addiction. The ending of this one left me wanting to throw a desk but the suspense is what makes it worth the wait and read!
Listen I have read a lot of books and I will say that some have been good but THIS is too good it is a crime the way the author shows how much attention he puts into littlest part if you look closely you can find more numbers on character AKA tarot cards to find out what might happen to the main character to a side character its like a word search except with numbers. But onto the book amazing the series sucks you in and just gets better and better nobody does it better the Ishida Sui
Great story, definitely my favorite manga other than the original. A great fight scene happens in this volume as well as the conclusion of the Auction Arc. Arrived very quickly and in great condition.
Purchased for my 11 year old daughter who is very much into anime and all that is Japanese right now. She enjoys reading only when it interests her so bonus for keeping her reading and wanting more.
The art, the story, the drama! 5/5 Perfect blend of horror, action, and mystery. Get excited like Owl does!
